How do you clean your instruments?
This is a crucial question you want to ask your foot care provider.
Foot care instruments used can either be single-use instruments (disposable) or autoclavable medical grade instruments as per Standards of Best Practice.
Pre-soak
After a session, all autoclavable instruments are pre-soaked with an Enzymatic solution spray to pre-clean surgical instruments effectively breaking down organic materials such as blood, fat, proteins and preventing contamination during transport.
Ultrasonic cleaning
After washing off the pre-soaked intsruments, it all goes in to an ultrasonic machine. This machine uses high frequency sound waves to agitate a cleaning solution effectively removing dirt, debris and contaminants.

Sterilization using an Autoclave
All instruments are then individually placed in a pouch with a chemical indicator to ensure sterilization is effective. Sterilization using an autoclave effectively kills bacteria, viruses, fungi and spores by using a high pressure steam. A biological indicator is also used for each cycle to determine effectiveness of the sterilization method.
